I like to do my devotional Bible readings in the New Century Version. It’s easy to read and understand at 6am, which is usually about the time I’m trying to prop open my eyes with coffee and meet with God. It’s also nice to read scripture in a translation other than the ones I’m used to — verses pop out in ways they haven’t before.

This is the one of the verses that leapt off the page for me in this month as I was reading in Isaiah. It’s strong and hopeful and promising, something God gave me as a gift that particular morning.
